Level 3 Award – Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage what you need to know? 

This qualification is a legal requirement for transport managers named on an Operator’s Licence. Working towards this lifelong qualification can be daunting but our trainers, who have some of the highest pass rates in the industry, will be there to help and support you every step of the way.

The Transport Manager qualification is a qualification for life, it’s essentially a licence to practice as a Transport Manager. As well as being a legal requirement for anyone wishing to act as a Transport Manager named on an Operator Licence the qualification is also an excellent opportunity for carer progression for drivers, supervisory, transport planning and maintenance staff, demonstrating that an operator takes their responsibilities seriously by investing in their staff development and incentivising retention.

The Transport Manager course is an 8-day course split over two weeks with an added 2 days of revisions, which thoroughly prepares candidates for both exams and includes comprehensive notes, practice questions and additional material all delivered by an industry expert. An additional 2-day course is also included in the price, which will give candidates the necessary skills and techniques to tackle the case study exam. Candidates will benefit enormously from taking up this option. These 2 days (preparation days) are immediately before the exams, which are sat at the training venue.

February Course - exam date on 26/02/2026

April/May Course - exam date on 28/05/2026

The exam is conducted in two parts – Part One is a Multiple-Choice paper designed to test the candidates' immediate recall knowledge, with Part Two being a written exam-based case study scenarios which are designed to test the candidates' understanding and application of that knowledge. Both exams are on the same day. 

The qualification itself is what is known as a Level 3 qualification and as such is equivalent to an A Level.

The awarding body is NLTC ( National Logistics Training Consortium).
